the unreported cases of gender- based violence
In the first unit of the IA, we chose an issue plaguing Lima and worked in groups to carry out an in-depth investigation of this topic, take photos to raise awareness through an exhibition, and come up with a plan for a solution. My group and I focused on Gender-Based Violence which was later narrowed down to the Unreported Cases of Gender-Based Violence. We learned a lot about our culture’s stereotypes, gained insights from policemen in a commissary, interviewed the Ministry of Women, collected opinions from diverse types of people, and overall became more knowledgeable on the process of investigating. During this unit, I learned to trust my peers by building a culture of honesty and to use resources efficiently to come up with efficient answers.
